Last update I ended with some fun pictures of the kinect working with processing and all was well. That was fun! And then I tried to make kinect-via-processing work. This is the middleware that connects processing (which is taking in the OSC data from the kinect) to Max.
This is essentially what it is – some Max files and some processing files:
The max files open this up within Max. So this was working…. But now to connect processing to this.
This is what processing opens up. These series of files that are all inter-connected.
But upon compiling the program I receive a multitude of errors. Some of which aren’t even shown because I was able to solve those using old forums on the subject. But I can find nothing else on these errors online, and after scrolling through and trying to understand the code I found nothing.
So moving onto my last option. Trying this all on PC. If that doesn’t work I am scratching this whole project and moving on to other ideas/options.
Those options are:
- I have been working on a quick comedy short film this semester. Everything is shot now I just need music and to edit. I could show this as my project.
- I’d like to make “moving portraits.” Very detailed and well lit scenes of a person doing something that I record and then freeze-frame but let certain moving areas loop. Example: girl standing smoking with everything frozen except for her cigarette smoke and some flickering lights or something.
- Just the nature/human animations without the human interaction part from the above project.
- A combination of all of these.
